Project Description:
This project consisted of a 16 classroom extension to the existing school and a full renovation and refurbishment of the existing 12 classroom school.

The 3500m² building is single storey with lightweight roofing throughout. The roof is constructed of 2 mono-pitches with concrete flat roofing sections dividing the pitched roofs.

The extension consisted of 2000m². This renovation incorporated a jacuzzi room, physiotherapy rooms, additional classrooms, extension to the GP rooms and all associated services.

Description of the Tenderer's Role:
Civil Structural Engineering Services

Innovation:
Saint Lasarians caters for mildly and severely mentally handicapped children and young adults and their needs were paramount within this build.

On this basis the design team set about successfully designing an extension and complete refurbishment within a working school.

The project was completed within program and on budget.
